If you aren't part of this, you should be!  FREECYCLE is "a grassroots and entirely nonprofit movement of people who are giving (and getting) stuff for free in their own towns and thus keeping good stuff out of landfills."

You can become a member for free!  I have gotten so many things that I have needed through Freecycle, and have been able to give a lot of things that I no longer needed to someone who did!
